Higginbotham Family Dental is owned and operated by Dr. Todd Higginbotham. Dr. Higginbotham is from Monette, AR where he grew up on his father’s farm. Dr. Higginbotham graduated with his DDS in 2002 from the University of TN in Memphis. Afterwards, Dr. Higginbotham returned to Jonesboro, AR where he worked as an associate dentist for four years. Then in 2006, Higginbotham Family Dental was opened in Blytheville, AR. Since then, the practice has grown to 10 location in AR, TN, and MO with more to come.

Dr. Todd Higginbotham
A native Arkansan who grew up in Monette and has a farming operation in Manila, Dr. Higginbotham graduated from Arkansas State University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the UT School of Dentistry in Memphis. He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), DOCS (Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation), and ASDA (Arkansas State Dental Association). From 2002-2006, Dr. Higginbotham practiced dentistry in Jonesboro with one of the largest general dentistry practices in the area. There, he gained tremendous experience treating adults and children. His dental practices feature state-of-the-art technology, including digital radiography, intra-oral cameras, advanced cavity detection, and anxiety-free dentistry through conscious sedation.
Dr. Higginbotham’s practice philosophy is to develop long-lasting, health-centered relationships based on trust, integrity, and honest communication with patients. He wants to help patients understand the causes of their current dental condition and develop a long-term plan to increase their self-esteem and well-being by enhancing their appearance, comfort, and ability to sustain excellent dental health. His dental practices feature complete smile makeovers, but as a family dentist, he treats all dental needs, large and small.
Dr. Todd Higginbotham and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents of sons, Noah and Xander. They are pleased to be a part of the Northeast Arkansas community, helping their friends and neighbors enjoy sparkling smiles and optimal oral health.
Dr. Anthony Rusher
Dr. Anthony Rusher graduated Magma Cum Laude in 2015 from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry after graduation he attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN. and graduated in 2019 as a member of the Richard Dogget Dean and Marguerite Taylor Dean Odonatological Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and a Certificate of Merit – Highest Honor.
Dr. Rusher started his dental career at Higginbotham Family Dental in the summer of 2019. He is married to his wonderful wife, Samantha, together they have one dog named Cooper (Coop) and a baby son on the way. They enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends as well as cheering on the Red Wolves, Razorbacks, and Cardinals.
“I chose dentistry because I felt like a different person when I finished orthodontic treatment as a teenager. I had new confidence in my smile and value for what a dentist can do for people. As a dentist, I most enjoy interacting and connecting with people daily. Those interactions allow me to provide quality, comprehensive care while teaching people about the importance of oral health. Each day in a dental office is a different challenge, but the people of Northeast Arkansas make every day a great one!”
Dr. Rusher loves helping his patients get out of pain. As someone who has experienced a sever toothache, he enjoys being able to help relieve the pain and give back the ability to eat, sleep and drink again. For anyone interested in the dental field, Dr. Rusher says, “Go For It! You get to spend your day meeting, talking to and taking care of people in your own community. There are no two days the same, but every day is great when you get to spend it doing what you love!”
Dr. Steven White
Dr. Steven White was born in Jonesboro and has lived in the Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri area for the majority of his life. He graduated from Senath-Hornersville High School in 2001 and attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry in 2006. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in May 2012. Dr. White pays attention to detail and seeks perfection in his endeavors, as illustrated in the smiles of his patients. His warm and caring personality will make any patient at ease during their dental treatment.
Dr. White, his wife Erika, and their kid’s MacKenzie, Parker, Emery, and Morrison enjoy spending time together and cheering on the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Dr. White looks forward to providing outstanding dental care to his friends and neighbors from the Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri communities.
Dr. Katie Bell
Dr. Katie Bell graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 2008 and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in May of 2014 with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the AAWD (American Association of Women Dentists), and the AGD (Academy of General Dentists). Dr. Bell lives in Memphis, Tennessee, with her two dogs, Sadie and Maggie.
She enjoys backpacking, gardening, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Bell aspires to build meaningful patient relationships and provide comprehensive care that will ensure her patients are healthy and happy. With her congenial personality and meticulous nature, she strives to put her patients at ease while they are under her care.
Dr. Adam Fitzhugh
Dr. Adam Fitzhugh graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Dental School in 2014. Before dental school, Dr. Fitzhugh attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis 2006, and attended college at MTSU and earned his degree in Biochemistry. He practiced in East Memphis for 4 years before joining the HFD Family in 2018. Dr. Fitzhugh says, ” Bartlett is such a down to earth part of the greater Memphis area. I have great respect for the hard-working people that call Bartlett their home.”
Dr. Fitzhugh and his wife Kayla, have two children Rowan and Rori. And we can’t forget about their two “yappy little weenie dogs”, Tucker and Lily. His hobbies include being a family man and making sure the grass stays mowed!
Dr. Doug Thomas
Dr. Doug Thomas graduated from Lambuth University in 1980 with a bachelor’s in chemistry with Cum Laude honors. He attended dental school at UTCHS in 1984 with honors. Dr. Thomas has been part of the HFD Family since November of 2017.
He has a lovely wife named, Lisa, has 5 wonderful kids and currently 5 grand kids! Being with his grand kids and going to the lake are some of his favorite activities. Dr. Thomas has practiced in Bartlett since 1985 and enjoys seeing his lifelong and new patients!
Dr. John Crown
Dr. John Crown graduated from dental school in 1994 from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys watching Cardinals Baseball and golfing! He joined the HFD Family in 2019 and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Dr. Crown and his family to Memphis!
Dr. Huey Phillips
Dr. Phillips graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 2019.
He enjoys playing golf duck hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He is a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and has two nieces and a nephew.
Dr. Phillips has been surrounded by the dental field his entire life with an uncle and cousin in the field. He loves being able to help others, and people always seem to judge others by their smile. He really loves East Memphis and the people that live there. “Memphis is definitely always trying to make changes for the people that live here and to provide more and more activities such as live music and festivals each year.”
He also loves giving back at Mission of Mercy every year. Dr. Phillips favorite dental procedure is root canals for patients who are in a lot of pain. It is very rewarding to relieve patients of pain that keeps them up at night. His advice for anyone interested in becoming a dentist is to spend as much time shadowing as possible. He said it is a very rewarding career, but also very hard work.
Dr. Chris Marshall
Dr. Chris Marshall grew up in Springdale, Arkansas and went to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to attain his Bachelor’s degree in 2015. After graduating he went to the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis in 2020. Dr. Marshall chose to be in dentistry as a profession because his grandfather is a retired dentist and inspired him to pursue the same career. He gained experience when he was an undergraduate, by being his dental assistant part-time. He really liked being able to do things from getting people out of pain, to transforming someone’s smile completely. This is when his passion for dentistry really grew.
He is engaged to Dr. Asthton Monks, DDS and they have a pet Maltese named Pearl. His hobbies include spending time with his family, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, golfing, bowling and going to the movies. They currently reside in Memphis, Tennessee and are members of Harvest Church.
Dr. Josylin Freeman
Dr. Josylin Freeman grew up in Stuttgart, AR and finished out high school in Little Rock, AR. After high school Dr. Freeman attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville from 2006 to 2008. She then transferred to the University of Memphis in 2009 and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She started dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2013 and graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2017.
She has worked a various offices in Memphis and Central Arkansas as an associate gaining knowledge and experience in dentistry. She joined Higginbotham Family Dental in Little Rock in October 2020.
Dr. Andrew Sandoval
Dr. Sandoval is originally from Los Angeles, CA. He served in the U.S. Army for 5 years with a tour in Iraq. Afterwards, he attended Missouri State University and majored in Biochemistry. He then went on to UMKC School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2020.
Dr. Sandoval started with HFD in 2020 and will be seeing patients primarily at our Kennett, MO office. He is married with two children and enjoys traveling, kiteboarding, skiing and basketball.
Dr. Sandoval chose dentistry because he wanted to help patients, especially those experiencing pain and helping with pain management and restoring healthy, youthful smiles. He loves getting to live in Kennett and treat the people who live in the community with him and increasing care to the community as well. Surgical extractions are his favorite procedure to help relieve patients of pain. For those considering the dental field, Dr. Sandoval says it is a long journey but with effort all is possible.
