Teledentistry Appointment Information
At Higginbotham Family Dental, the health and safety of our patients is our number one priority. With that in mind, we are offering Teledentistry appointments for our patients. Teledentistry is the use of electronic information, imaging, and communication technologies. In addition, the technologies include interactive audio, video, data communications as well as store and forward technologies. In conclusion, this will provide and support dental care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of dental information, and education.
What will be included in a Teledentistry Appointment?
Firstly, at your Teledentistry appointment, you will speak with a licensed dental professional regarding your dental emergency or concerns via Text or Video Chat on your device. Secondly, you may need to have a flashlight available and someone to assist you with photographic images. Then, a dental professional will give you a Virtual Dental Exam and Assessment. Lastly, the dental professional will recommend any treatments, prescriptions, and could possibly refer you for advanced treatment. Teledentistry appointments will be Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm only.

How much does the appointment cost?
The cost of the visit will be $85 and must be pre-paid prior to the virtual visit. On the day of your appointment, we will process your card. After that, you will submit the first forms, and then it will prompt you to the payment form. If you have any questions regarding the cost, please give our office a call or contact us.
What if I have dental insurance?
We will file your insurance on your behalf as a courtesy after your virtual appointment. However, You can receive a refund upon request if your insurance makes an overpayment.

To request a Teledentistry appointment, select if you are a current or new patient and complete the following forms. And, you will then receive an email confirming your appointment.
