Teledentistry Appointment Information
At Higginbotham Family Dental, the health and safety of our patients is our number one priority. With that in mind, we are offering Teledentistry appointments for our patients. Teledentistry is the use of electronic information, imaging and communication technologies, including interactive audio, video, data communications as well as store and forward technologies, to provide and support dental care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of dental information and education.
What will be included in a Teledentistry Appointment?
At your Teledentistry appointment, you will speak with a licensed dental professional regarding your dental emergency or concerns via Text or Video Chat on your device. You may need to have a flashlight available and someone to assist you for photographic images to be taken. You will then be given a Virtual Dental Exam and Assessment. Recommendations will then be given for treatments, prescriptions and possibly referrals for advanced treatment. Teledentistry appointments will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm only.
What types of concerns can be addressed during a Teledentistry appointment?
The following can be discussed during a Teledentistry appointment:
- Abscessed Tooth
- Tooth Pain
- Swelling and Bleeding of the Gums
- Chipped Tooth
- Cracked or Broken Crown
How much does the Teledentistry appointment cost?
The cost for the visit will be $85 and must be pre-paid prior to the virtual visit. Your card payment will be processed on the day of your appointment. You will be prompted to fill out the payment form after you submit all other forms for an appointment.
What if I have dental insurance?
We will file your insurance on your behalf as a courtesy after your Teledentistry appointment. If your insurance provides payment, then any over payment will be refunded to you upon request.
How do I schedule for a Teledentistry appointment?
To request a Teledentistry appointment, select if you are a current or new patient and complete the following forms. You will then receive an email confirming your appointment.
