What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that consists of a series of clear aligners that correctly aligns your teeth. Our locations in downtown and East Memphis use an iTero scanner that creates a 3-D image of your teeth. This enables your dentist to show you your dream smile before you even begin treatment through a virtual scan. You may be a great candidate for Invisalign if you are looking to correct the following:

  • Crowded Teeth
  • Underbite
  • Overbite
  • Gap Teeth

How Does it Work?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that fit onto your teeth and gently shifts them into place. You typically wear each tray for 2 weeks at a time. Each set of trays will get you closer to a straighter smile, and your dentist will monitor your progress along the way. The great thing about this orthodontic treatment is that you can remove them while you eat, and to brush your teeth. You will just need to wear your Invisalign trays 20-22 hours per day in order to complete your desired results.

Which is Quicker? Invisalign or Metal Braces?

The time required to straighten your smile depends on the specific dental issues that need correction, such as tooth crowding, gaps, overbites, and so on. For traditional braces, the treatment times can range from 6 months to 2 years. A typical Invisalign case can range from 12 months or less.

Is it Cheaper than Traditional Metal Braces?

The prices for Invisalign and braces are similar. Every smile has its own uniqueness, therefore the cost of Invisalign treatment varies case by case. Several factors such as insurance coverage, the necessary corrections, the number of trays required, and the complexity of your case can influence the cost of Invisalign.

Which is Better? Clear Aligners or Traditional Metal Braces?

Like we stated above, every smile is unique. Therefore, we require each patient to begin with a free dental cosmetic consultation to discuss their smile goals. From there, we may require x-rays to be taken to diagnose a treatment plan, and then your dentist will perform an oral exam to determine what would be best for your smile. The major benefits of Invisalign are that they are removable, you’ll have no food restrictions, it’s comfortable, and are virtually invisible. Book your free consultation online to start your journey towards a straighter smile with Memphis Invisalign.

Are Clear Aligners Painful?

No! Invisalign in Memphis, TN is not painful. After your first set of trays or when you change out your trays, you may experience some discomfort or soreness. The discomfort should not last long and is completely normal. We recommend using over-the-counter medication such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) as directed if you are not allergic. Switching out your trays at night can also reduce discomfort during the daytime. If you experience sharp edges on your aligners, those can be smoothed in our office within minutes.
