Invisalign Treatment

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that consists of a series of clear aligners that correctly aligns your teeth. Each of our locations uses an iTero scanner that creates a 3-D image of your teeth. This enables our dentists to show you your dream smile before you even begin treatment through a virtual scan. You may be a great candidate for Invisalign if you are looking to correct the following:

  • Crowded Teeth
  • Underbite
  • Overbite
  • Gap Teeth
  • Open Bite
  • Crossbite

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that fit onto your teeth and gently shifts them into place. You typically wear each tray for 2 weeks at a time. Each set of trays will get you closer to a straighter smile, and your dentist will monitor your progress along the way. The great thing about this orthodontic treatment is that you can remove them while you eat, and to brush your teeth. You will just need to wear your Invisalign trays 20-22 hours per day in order to complete your desired results.

Does Dental Insurance Cover Invisalign?

There are many dental insurance policies that do cover Invisalign. If your insurance has orthodontic coverage, it will most likely cover a certain percentage of your treatment. You can check with your insurance company, your benefit’s manager, or look at your benefits package under the “orthodontics” section.  To see what insurance policies we are in-network with, visit our insurance page. If you are visiting our dental office without dental insurance, and are seeking Invisalign, we have payment plan options for you! We believe every patient deserves to have the smile of their dreams, so that is why we have payment plan options to make orthodontic treatment more affordable. Read more about our payment plans and our Discount Dental Plan to learn more information on these services. We also accept third-party financing such as Care Credit

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The price of Invisalign depends on the complexity of your treatment. Most Invisalign treatments cost $3,000- $5,000. However, each case varies. Each individual Invisalign treatment is unique to the patient. Once we conclude your consultation and scan your teeth with our iTero machine, the dentist will then create your treatment plan. Then, a financial coordinator will be able to go over an estimate with you. From there, they can determine your monthly payments to make Invisalign more affordable. We believe in finding the best payment options for you to get you that perfect smile!

How Often Are Invisalign Treatment Appointments?

How often your Invisalign appointments depend on your treatment. Your dentist will determine how often you will need to visit, depending on your individual needs. The frequency of your visits can range anywhere from 4-8 weeks. At each appointment, the dentist will examine your progress to ensure you are still on track towards your dream smile.

Which Is Quicker? Invisalign Or Metal Braces?

The length of time It takes to straighten your smile depends on what needs to be corrected, such as tooth crowding, gaps, overbites, under bites, cross bites, etc. For traditional braces, the treatment times can range from 6 months to 2 years. A typical Invisalign case can range from 12 months or less.

Is Invisalign Cheaper Than Traditional Metal Braces?

The prices for Invisalign and braces are similar. Every smile has its own uniqueness, therefore the cost of Invisalign treatment varies case by case. The cost of Invisalign can depend on several factors such as insurance coverage, what you’re needing to be corrected, the number of trays that are needed, and the complexity of your case.

Which Is Better? Invisalign Or Traditional Metal Braces?

Like we stated above, every smile is unique. Therefore, we require each patient to begin with a free dental cosmetic consultation to discuss their smile goals. From there, we may require x-rays to be taken diagnose a treatment plan, and then your dentist will perform an oral exam to determine what would be best for your smile. Major benefits of Invisalign is that they are removable, you’ll have no food restrictions, it’s comfortable, and are virtually invisible.

Are Invisalign Clear Aligners Painful?

No, Invisalign is not painful. Although, after your first set of trays or when you change out your trays, you may experience discomfort or soreness. The discomfort should not last long. We recommend using over-the-counter medication such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) as directed if you are not allergic. Switching out your trays at night can also reduce discomfort during the daytime. If you experience sharp edges on your aligners, those can be smoothed in our office within minutes.
